A veterinary preparation providing a rich source of EPA ( eicosapentaenoic and DHA docosahexaenoic ) fatty acids from the Omega-3 as well as the powerful antioxidant - astaxanthin. The product is recommended as a part of dietary therapy for kidney and liver failure, heart disease, neurodegenerative changes, and inflammation of the joints and spine. It aids in the treatment of itchy skin diseases such as seborrhea and atopy, and alleviates allergic reactions. As a preventive measure, it is recommended for puppies and adult dogs, especially highly active dogs, breeding dogs, and those with weakened immunity or a predisposition to allergies.

EPA and DHA Fatty Acids:

Essential unsaturated Omega-3 fatty acids have a multifaceted positive effect on the bodies of dogs and other pets. EPA and DHA play a crucial role in preventing and alleviating pathological changes, including inflammatory diseases [1]. They are a key element in dietary therapy for animals with skin diseases, joint degeneration, and related inflammation [2,3,4]. They also positively influence heart and nervous system function [5,6].

Liver and Kidney Support: EPA and DHA acids are used in dietary therapy for renal and hepatic failure in dogs [7].

Deficiencies can increase susceptibility to infections, while studies show that enriching the diet with Omega-3s strengthens the immune system [8].

In Krill Oil, EPA and DHA are present in the form of phospholipids, making them more bioavailable than other sources.

Phospholipids:

They have many functions and uses in the body. They are a structural element of cell membranes and a source of choline for the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, an important factor in energy production and storage, and they also support blood clotting [9].

Phospholipids are especially important for the liver, as hepatocyte membranes consist of 65% phospholipids. They inhibit liver fibrosis processes, support their regeneration, and participate in the digestion of fats and the absorption of vitamins dissolved in them [10].

A diet rich in phospholipids reduces liver steatosis (fatty liver) by inhibiting intestinal fat absorption and influencing the activity of liver enzymes that regulate lipid metabolism [11,12].

Phospholipids also play a key role in brain function, representing approximately 60% of this organ's mass [13].

Astaxanthin:

A powerful antioxidant with numerous health-promoting properties. It neutralizes toxins and binds free radicals that damage body cells [14]. Astaxanthin accumulates in the muscles, where it reduces the effects of oxidative stress and muscle damage after exercise [15]. By limiting the synthesis of pro-inflammatory biomarkers (e.g., interleukins), it soothes inflammation in the body and accelerates tissue regeneration. It supports the proper functioning of the visual organ [14].

Astaxanthin supports the proper functioning of the immune system: it strengthens both the cellular and humoral response (related to the functioning of the immune system). It increases the production of lymphocytes [16].

Products containing astaxanthin are recommended as part of diabetic dietary therapy due to its ability to regulate blood glucose levels and increase insulin sensitivity [17,18].

Astaxanthin also has anti-cancer properties [16].

Game Dog Krill Oil undergoes rigorous quality analysis. The quality certificate ensures the product is free from heavy metals and other contaminants, guaranteeing safe use.

Fish oil or krill oil?

Both are given as a diet supplement with unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, which a dog cannot synthesize on its own. Fish oil, standardized for high EPA and DHA content, is a readily available source of fatty acids.

In addition to the beneficial EPA and DHA acids, krill oil also contains astaxanthin, which clears free radicals from the body, and phospholipids, which have the ability to regenerate the liver. Both products are worth using as part of dietary therapy for diseases of the internal organs, skin, or the musculoskeletal system. For economic reasons, fish oil will be more affordable. However, it is worth remembering that krill oil is characterized by higher bioavailability. These products can also be used interchangeably.

Is krill not an endangered animal?

The Red List of Threatened Species, published by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), classifies Arctic krill Euphausia superba as a "Least Concern" species, meaning the species is not threatened with extinction.

Can this product be used in patients with pancreatic disease or in obese dogs?

This oil can be used in patients with pancreatic disease because our oils contain a high concentration of EPA and DHA acids in a small amount of oil, so they will not be nutritionally significant regarding the total fat content in the diet.
