• Dosage:It is recommended to use the product regularly for at least 2 months.
  • Prophylactic (preventive):
  • 1 capsule for every 20 kg of body weight. Use for at least 2 months.
  • Kidney or liver failure, heart disease, neurodegenerative conditions, skin and joint inflammation: 1 capsule per 10 kg of body weight.
  • Dogs weighing more than 40 kg – 4 capsules per day. It is recommended to use Omega Forte for at least 2 months.
  • In case of diagnosed chronic diseases, the target dose and duration of supplementation should be discussed with a veterinarian.

Fish oil or krill oil?

Both are given as a diet supplement with unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, which a dog cannot synthesize on its own. Fish oil, standardized for high EPA and DHA content, is a readily available source of fatty acids.

In addition to the beneficial EPA and DHA acids, krill oil also contains astaxanthin, which clears free radicals from the body, and phospholipids, which have the ability to regenerate the liver. Both products are worth using as part of dietary therapy for diseases of the internal organs, skin, or the musculoskeletal system. For economic reasons, fish oil will be more affordable. However, it is worth remembering that krill oil is characterized by higher bioavailability. These products can also be used interchangeably.

When to give Omega-3 and when Omega Forte?

These two products differ in their EPA and DHA content. Omega Forte contains more of them and is worth using as an element of dietary therapy for diseases of the musculoskeletal system, skin, or internal organs. Omega-3, on the other hand, due to its lower fatty acid content, is excellent for prophylaxis or for dogs and cats of small breeds. For the prophylaxis of large breed dogs, you can also consider using Omega Forte, which will allow you to administer a smaller number of capsules.
